‘day 31’ by Paul Robert Mullen

Amor Rusticum
by Donald Gjoka

day 31

maybe we will find another world

for the blackbird

maybe the Aquarian age is

the last // the best

                            // just the beginning

maybe those asking what their country

can do for them

will answer for themselves

since only dead men

                             are free from lies

maybe John Lee Hooker

                            is playing with thunder

far above cobalt sky april lights

maybe the murder

                in these molecules

will raise nations from their knees

maybe my tell-tale heart

will show the scars of separation

as we navigate black dreamlands

maybe those with fingers

on triggers

will stop calculating lives with

                just numbers

maybe these gorgeous sickly-silly love songs

drifting over fences

will make us feel as though

today

is just another day
