Artist’s Statement
“The Orange and Blue series, like much of my work in soft pastel, is about highlighting the surreal of the real. The suggestion of the figure, from indistinct lines to recognizable form, straddles the familiar and unfamiliar through abstract color design. The subject is reduced to a limited spectrum of color that highlights a universal uncanny humanity present in artistic interpretation.”

Alexandra Grunberg is a Glasgow based artist, poet, author, and screenwriter. Her artwork has appeared online in Anti-Heroin Chic and her visual poetry has appeared in Honey & Lime. She attends online art classes run by All the Young Nudes and the 2b or Not 2b Collective. She is a postgraduate student in the DFA in Creative Writing programme at the University of Glasgow.
