‘Lamartine’ by Tom Snarsky

Yellow Red Whispers
by Danuta E. Kosk-Kosicka

Lamartine

Truth, a ball
peen hammer
in amber, a
wreck. A lake

with a book
at the bottom.
Autumn so
brief the leaves

fall still
green, hang on
the reeds,
beginning

an armorer’s
dreamless sleep
