What Happens When Air Forgets You?

                                  -after William Stafford

Nothing. No thing.
No word for no, no word for thing. No
words.          No order
in the way r follows o, d
follows r, e follows d, r follows
e, and then it’s done.          No one.
No more. No me.      No or. No no.

Nicola Caroli trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She created interdisciplinary, participatory poetry performances and events for over twenty years. Her work is published or forthcoming in Berlin Flash FictionBeyond Words and the Duskbound Books anthology Sacrifice, among others. KJ Hannah Greenberg uses her trusty point-and-shoot camera to capture the order of G-d’s universe, and Paint 3D to capture her personal chaos. Sometimes, it’s insufficient for her to sate herself by applying verbal whimsy to pastures where gelatinous wildebeests roam or fey hedgehogs play. Hannah’s poetry and art collections are: Miscellaneous Parlor Tricks (Seashell Books, 2024, Forthcoming), Word Magpie (Audience Askew, 2024), Subrogation (Seashell Books, 2023), and One-Handed Pianist (Hekate Publishing, 2021).
